Am I willing…
Matthew 8: When Jesus came down from the mountainside, large crowds followed him. 2 A man with leprosy[a] came and knelt before him and said, “Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean.”
3 Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. “I am willing,” …
Jesus came off the mountaintop willing…
What is the mountain top for?
1 – It is that place of refreshing that can only come from the presence of God. What is refreshing? It is that place where we become full of hope and expectation. That place where we get to exchange fear of life for the fear of God.
2 – That place of surrendering personal will, which will work it’s way to the front everyday of our lives if we don’t frequent the mountaintop. It is where the fulfillment of our laying down our lives gets to meet the love of a savior. Oh what a great selfless moment, followed by the most wonderful place of God’s love. Or vice versa
3 – It is that place of burden exchange – oh how we spend too much time carrying the wrong weight! We pick up all these “things” that are not ours to carry – but instead we are to cast our cares, and take HIS yoke on us. He promises rest, but we have to go to the mountaintop to get the rest He promises us.
4 – It is the place of the Glory of God – oh, if we would only remember that the kingdom of God is righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. As a family when we take the time to observe the Sabbath the way that God intended, we inevitably land in a place of having more joy, more peace and walking more in HIS righteousness towards each other.
This week – enjoy the presence of God in all you do, but don’t forget that the mountaintop, in his presence, is a beautiful place to start!
